DESCRIPTION

  • This position will be responsible for driving sales growth on the east coast for the complete line of B&R and ABB motion control automation solutions. DESCRIPTION

You will be responsible for planning, purchasing, tracking, and maintaining inventory levels in the areas of distribution, engineering services, and in-house production for an Industrial Automation organization. Responsibilities will also include oversight of the Logistics team, including receiving, picking and shipping operations.

  • Manage the purchasing and Logistics departments in the overall supply chain process of purchasing, inventory control, logistics and distribution. Hire, train, coach and evaluate direct reports.

  • Work closely with other department team members and Managers during new product development/redesign phase to ensure purchased product costs, quality standards and product availability fall within the established criteria of the Company/Project.
  • Ensures all purchased costs are up to date, vendor quality and delivery commitments are met.
  • Maintain an external awareness of industry and related purchasing trends, global material shortages and new technology as it relates to the products produced.
  • Work directly with Sales Operations to review supplier contracts and relay necessary information to Purchasing, Quality and Production teams as needed.
  • Monitor and adjust purchased inventory levels by regularly reviewing past, present and future
    product demands based on historical ERP data and forecasted sales.
  • Work with Accounting and Management to reconcile all outstanding payment issues in a
    timely manner to prevent delays in product delivery or services.
  • Provide guidance to the companies Continuous Improvement Program when dealing with
    Purchased or Procured products and services for the project(s).
  • Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

DESCRIPTION

The Project Engineer, Mechanical is a senior technical team member at the newly established site in Lakewood Ranch, FL. As the Project Engineer, responsibilities will include:

  • Determine and document project specifications by driving communication and collaboration with project stakeholders including customers, sales teams, and engineering.
  • Compile information and create reporting by studying product design parameters, ensuring alignment of customer requirements and vendor, and review of customer driven and documented performance standards.
  • Actively participate or drive cross functional technical studies, share with stakeholders and document results.
  • Technically interface with customers and coordinate cross-functional collaboration with Operations as needed to implement drawing / specification changes. Encourage production feedback and document customer approvals.

  • Assures system and product quality by the design of assembly methods; testing of finished products and system capabilities/performance, fabrication, assembly, and installation processes (where agreed upon and applicable).
  • Project Management of mechanical, electrical, and cross-functional engineering projects which may utilize a combination of internal and external resources where client/vendor interfacing may be necessary.
  • Creates, maintains, and gains stakeholder approval of project schedule, which may include, but not limited to, customer requirements, stakeholder agreements, time constraints (including material lead, design, and assembly), resource availability, coordination of cross functional activities, issue resolution, change management, etc.
  • Compile and complete detailed cost estimates, indicating potential risks or variances.
  • Control of project costs to budget; by the continuous review of design, specifications, progress, scheduling changes, change management, etc.
  • Compile, evaluate, engage stakeholders, and approve customer prints and specification revisions.
  • Document and maintain complete records of all project changes, customer, and stakeholder technical requirements.
  • Prepares project status reports and provides recommendations by collecting, analyzing trends, and summarizing project information.
  • Builds and develops BOM’s

REQUIREMENTS & ADDITIONAL DETAILS

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 3+ years’ experience designing mechanical, electro-mechanical, pneumatic, or electro-pneumatic products, systems, or assemblies, including 2+ years of Project Management experience and methodologies, with a proven ability to work cross-functionally. Proficient at using SolidWorks, Product Data Management systems (PDM) and MS Office products; knowledge of business system products helpful. Familiarity with team leadership concepts and a strong ability to influence without positional power is also a plus.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Electrical Design/Engineer works with a team of other electrical and mechanical engineers, to design, debug, and manufacturer custom automation equipment, packaging and robotic work cells. To this goal, it is the Electrical Design/Engineers responsibility to create electrical enclosure and single line electrical schematic prints, analyze and correct redline prints, troubleshoot and debug electrical designs, sets up communication devices (DeviceNet, Ethernet etc..), and determines material and component specifications based on job requirements. This requires following RND standards for both process and component selection, as well as helping to set/modify those standards with the team, when needed.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create electrical enclosure and single line schematic prints, utilizing AutoCAD Electrical
  • Verifies conformance of components to customer specifications
  • Creates electrical bill of materials
  • Performs test and de-bug and set up of devices
  • Use voltmeters, ammeters, oscilloscopes and other test equipment to debug and fix wiring mistakes in panels
  • Utilize proper wiring methods and codes
  • Work with panel shop to ensure proper panel build and ohm check finished panels
  • Maintain and help to set standards for electrical component selection and use
  • Actively participate in project design reviews and huddles

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Automation, Robotics & Packaging Machinery Account Manager will work with the Sales Manager to develop and execute a comprehensive strategic business development and market penetration plan for the region.

  • Define major goals, objectives and timelines, identify target key accounts and relevant customer segments and develop and implement corresponding action plans.
  • Quickly learn about RND’s packaging division a manufacturer of HFFS and VFFS thermoforming machinery for both rigid and flexible film, and become familiar with their products to the point where you can identify potential new customers.
  • Create and execute sales plans and sales forecasts. Maintain proposal and opportunity logs and follow up with current and perspective customers both by phone, email and in person.
  • Drive sales revenues by directly managing the entire sales process at target customers, from lead generation to support of final contract negotiations. Strive to obtain required supplier clearances at major accounts by developing relationships with appropriate decision-makers on multiple levels.
  • Handle informational requests from interested potential customers, collect required support documentation (drawings, samples, specs etc..) and develop quotes and proposals in response to RFPs/RFQs.
  • Manage and communicate with an established network of external sales channels to complement internal sales activities.

  • Strong strategic acumen with proven success in developing and executing business development/market penetration plans
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Able to communicate with all levels from factory operators to C-level managers.

Position: Automation, Robotics & Packaging Machinery Account Manager

RND Automation, a rapidly expanding robotic automation, assembly & packaging equipment company is seeking an Automation, Robotics & Packaging Machinery Account Manager in New England.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Automation, Robotics & Packaging Machinery Account Manager will work with the Sales Manager to develop and execute a comprehensive strategic business development and market penetration plan for the region.

  • Define major goals, objectives and timelines, identify target key accounts and relevant customer segments and develop and implement corresponding action plans.
  • Quickly learn about RND’s packaging division a manufacturer of HFFS and VFFS thermoforming machinery for both rigid and flexible film, and become familiar with their products to the point where you can identify potential new customers.
  • Create and execute sales plans and sales forecasts. Maintain proposal and opportunity logs and follow up with current and perspective customers both by phone, email and in person.
  • Drive sales revenues by directly managing the entire sales process at target customers, from lead generation to support of final contract negotiations. Strive to obtain required supplier clearances at major accounts by developing relationships with appropriate decision-makers on multiple levels.
  • Handle informational requests from interested potential customers, collect required support documentation (drawings, samples, specs etc..) and develop quotes and proposals in response to RFPs/RFQs.
  • Manage and communicate with an established network of external sales channels to complement internal sales activities.
  • Represent the company at relevant industry trade shows, seminars and networking events.

Position: Engineering Manager

RND Automation, a rapidly expanding robotic automation, assembly & packaging equipment company is seeking an Engineering Manager for Florida’s largest industrial automatic, robotics, and packaging machinery manufacturer in Lakewood Ranch, Florida.

DESCRIPTION

The Engineering Manager will manage of all aspects of engineering, including, but not limited to, mechanical design, electrical/controls design, PLC, HMI, robot, & vision programming. This includes a seat on the Management Team. It is the role of this position to provide direction and manage the standards and process for how machines are designed, as well as what components are chosen for the designs. It is the responsibility of this position to ensure that projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget for the engineering phase. To support the engineering phase, this position will also attend all project design reviews and most project huddles. 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Assess, manage, and delegate mechanical and electrical resources with the assistance of the Mechanical & Controls Lead Engineers.
    • Provide vision on product technical roadmap, and develop employees and technology in critical areas.
    • Discuss and follow-up on project progress with Director of Operations, ensuring employees deliver on their commitments;
    • Define guidelines governing the team’s methods and standards and challenge their relevancy and enforce the process.
    • Oversee the development, design, and implement control strategies for robots and other automation equipment using PLCs, motion controllers, and industrial PCs
    • Assist with and oversee the selection of outside sources, electrical drives, motors, robots, slides, pneumatics and controllers from outside suppliers.
    • Guide the development of specifications for the design of GUIs and other HMIs
    • Develop and enforce design and coding processes, design reviews, and verification plans
    • Read, evaluate, and adhere to customer equipment specifications, in house proposals, and standard processes.
    • Assess and mentor Engineering Staff – Provide Educational Development and Cross-training path for team members.
    • Prepare and implement reviews for primary and secondary reports.
    • Act as part of the Management Team for furthering RND’s goals and future development.
    • Actively participate in project design reviews and project huddles.

QUALIFICATIONS

    • Minimum of 3 years experience as a Engineering Lead or Manager
    • Minimum of 10 years experience designing Horizontal and/or Vertical Form Fill and Seal Equipment. Experience in custom automation assembly machinery, robotics and other industrial machinery is a major plus.
    • Knowledge of film chemsity, heat, pressure, and time requirements for the production of thermoformed rigid and flexible packages.
    • While the Engineering Manager does not have to be an expert programmer, knowledge of Allen Bradley control systems and I/O communication is required.
    • Should be an expert at reducing costs through simplifications, standardization and make/buy decisions when designing industrial machinery.
    • Ability to work with sales, supply chain, and manufacturing departments to ensure a closed loop system of documentation and standardization of machinery.

The Controls Programmer works with a team of other electrical and mechanical engineers, to design, debug, and manufacturer custom automation equipment and robotic workcells. To this goal, it is this positions responsibility to utilize RND standards to create PLC, HMI, robot, and vision programs for custom machines. This includes set up of communication devices (DeviceNet, Ethernet etc..) and components as specified by the project designers. This requires following RND standards for both layout and programming functions, as well as helping to set/modify those standards with the team, when needed.

  • Create PLC code, utilizing RND standard modules and custom code where needed
  • Write HMI screens and links, utilizing RND standard modules and custom programming where needed
  • Mapping based on controls provided schematics and project pinning charts
  • Performs test and de-bug and set up of devices
  • Troubleshoot controls and some field wire troubleshooting
  • Utilize proper programming methods and utilize commenting of code
  • Maintain and help to set standards for programming
  • Actively participate in project design reviews and huddles

DESCRIPTION

The Applications Engineer works with the sales team to develop concepts and proposals, as well as completing the quote sheet from which the proposal pricing stems from. In order to provide meaningful proposals to RND customers, this person must be knowledgeable on both RND’s capabilities and understand RND’s standards and common practices. As a liaison between RND and its customers, this person must also understand, and be able to communicate clearly and concisely, the customer’s needs/expectations to the RND engineering team.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Electronics Technician is responsible for the assembly of Electrical Control Panels per customer orders.
  • Work directly with customers to understand their processes and develop the best solutions for their requirements based on their request for quote (RFQ)
  • Work with our sales team to professionally represent the company at a customer, gather data, and ask the right questions to define a project
  • Work with our sales, engineering and purchasing departments to develop and quote cost effective and profitable solutions that use cutting edge technologies.
  • Recognize and understand the customer’s needs, make suggestions for possible solutions, and quickly develop budgetary numbers. Accuracy is essential.
  • Typical customer requirements include but are not limited to robotic assembly, machine vision, dial indexing machines, linear motor pick and place, inspection, validation, forming, dispensing etc..
  • Obtaining firm prices and technology recommendations from our stable of vendors.
  • Maintain, improve and ensure the accuracy of our pricing database.
  • Hands on prototype testing or mockups may be required to prove out concepts.
  • Preparation of detailed cost estimates, proposal drawings, concept sketches and proposals.
  • Develop value-added propositions and proposal writing
  • Implement proposal specifications by applying current and possible product designs to customer requirements and performance standards

DESCRIPTION

The Electro-Mechanical Technician will take on the responsibility for hands on assembly of custom automated, robotic and packaging equipment. While operating under minimal supervision in a manufacturing focused environment, this position will be involved in, but not limited to, machine assembly, machine debug, and material handling. Machine assembly includes the mechanical assembly, in-house panel build, electrical assembly, and the operation of the machine during and after debug, while at RND’s facility. It is this positions responsibility to ensure that projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within labor budgets for assembly phase. To support the assembly phase, this position may also attend project design reviews and project huddles. 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow company values and always drive forward with the principles of RND’s mission statement and goals.
  • Be able to comprehend and follow the drawings in either the Project Assembly Book, or the Electrical Drawings Package.
  • Assemble, both mechanically or electrically, to the company assembly standards.
  • Troubleshoot machines in regard to their mechanical or electrical assemblies.
  • Use experience to properly align and/or adjust assemblies to ensure they are square and in their proper location.
  • Bring concerns or issues, with solutions if possible, back to the design team for evaluation.
  • Assist with debug of machines utilizing proper flow guidelines (upstream stations before downstream stations, whenever possible).
  • Operate machines, when needed, to assist in debug, customer training, and/or to gain time on a machine at the end of the debug process.
  • At times, be available for customer installs.
  • Keep all work areas organized and free of clutter. This includes putting tools and assemblies away at the end of the day.
  • Actively participate in project design reviews and project huddles.
