Engineering Technician

Location: North Attleboro, MA

DESCRIPTION

As the Engineering Technician you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting design engineers with performance and durability testing, prototyping, design documentation and product and process analysis of electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Performing test set up and data collection; statistically analyze and summarize engineering data collected from experiments and durability testing.
  • Working in teams to provide the required support effort for successful project completion, and continuously improving processes and design methods.
  • Building assembly work instructions to document a standard assembly process and build in proper efficient assembly process.

Additional Details

  • This role requires a hands-on candidate with strong mechanical build and testing skills to support both sustaining products and new product development.
  • The job requires both individual and team interaction in meeting policy deployment goals where interaction with other design technicians and engineers will be interlaced with potential interaction with process engineers, marketing engineers and purchasing personnel.
  • The work environment is challenging, fast paced, and involves analytical thinking and design with hands-on experimentation and testing.
  • We are a dynamic organization with rapidly changing business and technical priorities.
  • Work assignments are based on team efforts and individuals can move from one project to another.
  • We achieve our business goals inside of a rigorous TS/ISO quality environment.
  • Additional skills that are of value are a broad range of computer usage skills such as SolidWorks, machining skills on a range of machine shop tools (drills, presses, lathes, etc.), good written communications skills, and general automotive and/or mechanical experience.

QUALIFICATIONS
A minimum of a High School education or GED with 5+ years’ experience working in a team environment understanding the demands of Engineering and an advanced understanding of design documentation.

  • Must read and understand electrical schematics (IEC format), and layout drawings, and work instructions.
  • Familiar with UL wiring standards. IPC A620 certification a plus
  • Microsoft Office experience required

Electrical Engineer

As an Electrical Engineer you will be directly responsible for researching, designing and developing industrial control panels.

  • Meet with internal and external customers to understand scope of project
  • Review and confirm technical aspects are relative to design
  • Estimate budgets based on customer specifications • Assemble BOMs from specifications
  • Prioritize projects for on-time delivery and within budget.

QUALIFICATIONS
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Must have 2+ years’ experience with industrial control panel design, UL508A, BOMs, ECOs, design, drafting and SolidWorks Electrical or AutoCAD Electrical.

Account Manager, OEM Sales

Location: Virginia

As an Account Manager, OEM Sales you will be responsible to provide industry leading industrial automation hardware and software solutions to OEM machine builders, enabling them to succeed in a competitive global marketplace. You will have the opportunity to introduce superior products and technologies, differentiating yourself from the competition. You will develop lasting relationships with your customers and gain valuable experience working in a wide variety of market segments including packaging, printing, semiconductor, medical, pharmaceutical, machine tool, alternative energy, and robotics. This role within iAutomation offers the perfect blend of technical knowledge and sales strategy while working with innovative customers and partnering with strategic suppliers.   • Manage existing strategic accounts.
  • Identify, qualify, and build new strategic accounts.
  • Strengthen strategic supplier relationships.
  • Develop sales strategies for securing new business.
  • Manage and maintain an accurate sales funnel for the territory.
  • Compile annual forecasts by account for the territory.
  • Consistent activity reporting for the territory. • Exceed territory sales goals year over year.
  • Prepare technical presentations, proposals, and quotations.
  • Provide answers to technical questions regarding industrial automation hardware and software.
  • Work with engineers to successfully complete industrial automation projects.
  • Establish and maintain strong industry contacts to gain industry knowledge and improve sales.

REQUIREMENTS & ADDITIONAL DETAILS
Requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or an equivalent discipline with 2 years’ experience in a technical sales role. Experience selling and supporting industrial automation projects. Experience managing high-value strategic customers. Proven track record of successful business development and strong relationship building skills. Proficiency with MS Office, creating technical sales presentations, proposals, and quotations.

Senior Buyer

Location: North Attleboro, MA

DESCRIPTION

As a Senior Buyer you will be directly responsible for facilitating the procurement of materials and related services required by the company. This position will oversee the purchasing function, collaborate closely with Materials Management, Outside Sales, Production and Planning, and support the company’s overall growth plan.

  • Establish strategies to improve supply chain, solve shortage issues and strengthen supplier relationships
  • Obtain materials, components and equipment, as required by the production schedule
  • Plan, schedule and monitor the movement of materials through the development, prototype and production cycle
  • Expedite orders as necessary
  • Establish and maintain relations with suppliers and appropriate representatives
  • Direct and procure supplier technical and operating expertise as required to internal customer
  • Maintain an awareness of materials and procurement concepts • Verify data accuracy, report problems to appropriate parties
  • Develop written procedures for routine protocols and keep them current for the Purchasing Dept.
  • Identify problem areas and offer possible solutions
  • Complete special assignments for the Operations department • Track progress of parts to ensure time schedules and delivery
  • Work with engineering on new product introductions, including early supplier involvement
  • Implement improvement processes to reduce inventory and non-value add work
  • Monitors, analyzes, and reports material variances to standard cost. Interfaces with Accounting, Manufacturing Engineering, and Production to establish standard costs.
  • Responsible for optimizing material costs through vendor analysis, quality, schedule, cost evaluation, etc. Applies cost effective measures as related to support standard cost and make/buy decisions.

QUALIFICATIONS
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing or Business CPM or CPIM and APICS with 4 plus years’ experience purchasing in a manufacturing environment.

Must be detail oriented and self-motivated, have strong organizational and negotiating skills, experience with supplier managed inventory, and a track record of cost, inventory and lead time reduction.

Quality Engineer
Location: North Attleboro, MA

DESCRIPTION

As the Quality Engineer you will have operational responsibility over iAutomation’s Quality Management System. You will perform various tasks to innovate, develop, release, and sustain internal quality and manufacturing processes, support Manufacturing operations by identifying performance gaps and developing process or solutions to assure the continuity of durable, error-free processes and be a driver of behaviors and company culture that support, and are consistent with, iAutomation’s Mission and Values.

The duties of this role include, but are not limited to:

Primary responsibilities for the:

  • Maintenance of company quality certifications & credentials
    • Including ISO 9000, UL, IPC, ETL
  • Performance of quality system and process audits throughout the company
  • Corrective and Preventative Action (CPAR) process including coordination of efforts to identify root causes of failure and implementing permanent corrective actions
  • Supplier Corrective Action Reports (SCAR) system.
  • Develop/deploy manufacturing process controls and associated measures (metrics) that allow monitoring and communication of critical process deliverables
  • Management of the calibration system
  • Non-conformed material process
  • Participation in development and maintenance of the Document Management and Change Control Processes
  • Summary and analysis of Customer Complaint data
  • Support training activities in support of quality objectives as required
  • Participate in the Safety Committee
  • Support and participate in costing analyses performed by financial analysts in support of cost of quality and cost management
  • Support and monitor the development and maintenance of manufacturing processes
  • Develop a receiving inspection capability • Develop a first article inspection process
  • Release/maintain FAI process

QUALIFICATIONS
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 10+ years’ relevant experience in a similar role in a Manufacturing, Engineering, or Quality environment.
