Description

Perform validation and acceptance testing of electrical control panels in a manufacturing environment. Must be able to read and interpret wiring diagrams and mechanical drawings.  Working knowledge of electrical control panels and wiring is required. Troubleshooting and repair of defects is required. Occasional travel to customer locations including overnight stays will occur. 

  • Interface with Panel Designers and System Engineers 
  • Visual inspection 
  • Validate workmanship of completed panel assemblies  
  • Point to point wiring validation  
  • Power Up (line voltages up to 480 VAC 3PH) 
  • PLC Program uploads 
  • Interconnecting field devices such as motors, sensors, switches 
  • Perform system tests to validate correct device and system functions 
  • Photo documentation of finished panel, mark-up of engineering drawings (red-lines) to “as-built” and preparation of engineering change orders  
  • Document test findings, and write and update test procedures 
  • Manufacturing support as required 
  • Understanding of basic electric theory and functionality of electrical components 
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Operate pallet jack as needed 
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Excel, Word, PDF creation, digital camera operation, and cloud-based file storage 

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE  

  • Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering or Technology or equivalent experience 
  • 2+ years’ experience in electrical testing in a manufacturing environment with a preference in testing electrical control panels 
  • Familiarity with UL508A and IPC A620 preferred 
  • Experience using standard tools for testing, including multimeters, oscilloscope,  etc. 
  • Requires a thorough understanding/training in Lock-Out/Tag-Out 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

  • Work involves frequent lifting of materials and product up to 50 pounds 

WORKING CONDITIONS 

  • Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. 

SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Have a thorough understanding/training in Lock-Out/Tag-Out
